This news is still developing and this post will be updated as needed. When updated, the post-date will change so that this section is top of the list. Current consensus is that rageofthegods.com is OOG. A users on the IMDB message board discovered a possible new viral site today. www.rageofthegods.com - There's a lot of information and speculation already, so I'm going to try and sum up:
1. There are 2 images on the site titled 27.jpg and 6.jpg - Added they are 33, Subtracted they are 21, Divided they are 4.5 - Don't think that means anything. Also: 01+18+08 = 27. 6 is a common number in the ARG "You Can't Drink Just Six" etc.
2. The rat is the Japanese/Chinese symbol for year 2008.
3. The site was created 12 days before 1-18-08.com
4. www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js is in the source code - same as slusho.jp and 1-18-08.com
5. Wikipedia Rat traits: Ruling hours: 11pm-1am, Season: Winter, Negative Traits: Controlling, resentful, manipulative, cruel, vengeful, stubborn, power-hungry, critical.
6. Rat = Cheese
7. Information on Rage of the Gods (No confirmation)
8. Same IP locaton as slusho.jp (need to confirm)
9. Website title is -- same as 1-18-08.com (Morse Code for M)
10. GenoSin on Unfiction pointed out: Wow, I'm an idiot. This is definitely OOG (Out of Game), this site was made 2 months before slusho..meaning that it couldn't have always linked to slusho.
11. Page automatically directs to slusho.jp within a few seconds - to shop this, hit ESC or click the Stop button on your browser.
12. The address in the Whois is for a Japanese restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ: Hang on Sushi
13. Set-up through GoDaddy.com allows private registration - No telling who owns the site.
14. Unfiction is labeling the site OOG (Out of Game).
15. Mabus posted in the comments section that the cancel code box is a dead text box. Meaning, it doesn't actually do anything: Also the source code reveals the "cancel code" is simply an input box with nothing it inputs to.. meaning its just a box to type characters in but doesn't actually do anything: input name="textfield" class="style3" size="6" maxlength="6" type="text". I have limited knowledge on text input boxes, but there should be a "submit" action or something.
16. Mabus also pointed out: and one of the meta tags is a google sitemaps metatag. meta name="verify-v1" content="0SkVkN6apr9DZkKbQYc7kD76tRQXJFsd5/ZDo50ys1I="
17. One of the reasons why it's fake might be that the character above the rat is CHINESE not Japanese. So far, we've been dealing with information and facts about Japan.
18. Chrisda19 posted in the comments section that the Chinese character means "Shen" in rising 2nd Tone, meaning Deity or God
19. August 12th: The site now points to a new page and not slusho.jp (no confirmation what the symbol means)Sites Creation Dates Time-line:
- rageofthegods.com - March 18th
- 1-18-08.com - March 30th
- Transformers Premiere- July 3rd
- My blog - July 18th (about time people really started getting into this)
- Slusho.jp - July 27th

That new rageofthegods site is definitely related to the movie. It has the same title bar text of "- -" and everything. Also it has the japanese connections, and the whole "six" theme. Which could be Slusho as the cancellation code but I'm not sure. I'll check back every now and then, you're picking up some good info.
i live in phoenix,
i'll check the sushi place out.
it redirects me to slusho
i dug more into the rage of the gods site and noticed that the words are in chinese, not japanese. The first character nearest to the Rat is obviously chinese for Rat, or Shu. That could be the first three letters of the "code", I'll check back for the next character as soon as i find it.
I found the top meaning, it's the chinese character, Shen (one of the many "Shen" in Chinese), in rising 2nd Tone, meaning Deity or God. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shen_(Chinese_%22spirit%3B_god%22)
I hope this somewhat helps to what this means. I'm going to pose about this on uf
I called the number associated with the restaurnt via the link you posted. It's not a legit number, figured you'd like to know.
The google analytics source code you noticed is http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js, which is on mine, too. It's the generic google tracking java stuff.
You need the individual account# to be able to pin it to the 1-18-08 or Slusho site.
My thought is someone is using Cloverfield to get traffic to their site. I'm curious, though, to see if it's legit.
Uhmm... 6 Digit Cancel code...
I don't know why, but I think about the cancel code in Lost: it was really "cancel code", and it had 6 numbers (but not digits): 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 (see http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/The_Numbers )...
黄泉 (Japanese: kousen or yomi)
This Symbol means "Hades", "Underworld" or "underground spring".
Interesting is, this Kanji 泉 has two parts:
白 (white)
and
水 (water), so we have also the water theme here.
In theory, how were we supposed to have discovered this site? If it is IG, was it just given to someone by a PM? Is there some hidden logic to the url name that someone figured out?
There's Chocolate Rage, but what about the "of the Gods" part?
The site now goes to a whole new image, titled "19924". I broke this down into three parts, "19, 9, and 24". Then I checked to see which letter of the alphabet each number corresponds to.
Guess what? "19, 9, 24" is "S, I, X".
Still haven't figured out the first pic's numerical assignment, "2515139". The only thing that makes sense is the word "yomi", which translates into "underworld" or "Hades" in English.
Hello all. I'm new here and to this whole viral marketing thing behind the movie. I just noticed some things and wanted to help out if i could. About 15 minutes ago i went to the rage of the gods site and it hade the characters at the top and the picture of the rat and all that. Then it did the redirect thing, took me to rageofthegoids.com/19924 and had the characters on the page. Well now when it's all changed. When i go to the site the characters at the top are distorted and when it redirects it goes to http://www.rageofthegods.com/6518231184.swf It goes through 2 sets of numbers. The first is the set in the address, the second is 919, and teh third is 25262416426923. I don't know if this is important or not but i jus wanted to see if i could help.
OK, so far I've translated the numerical patterns shown on the "Rage of the Gods" site into letters. Here's what I have so far:
2515139: "Yomi"
19924: "Six"
61518231184: "Forward"
919: "Is"
25262416426923: (This is the one that escapes me)
I'm still working under the assumption that this site is completely OOG, but I'm doing the translations just in case I'm wrong. :)
Did anyone notice it now points to a new site? one with flashing numbers?
As for definitely connected, until someone can draw a straight line or an exact reference, i'm believing OOG
For those who didn't write it down. Site now says after redirect:
61518231184
919
25262416426923
This is interesting.
http://www.rageofthegods.com/demonscantdecipherthiscode.html
so this link within Rageofthegods.com means nothing....
www.rageofthegods.com/2618792112420.html
(I got here after hitting hidden link "666" below the window picture)
Over the windows today is statement:
Y15U, D12 N15T C12NTINUE 15R Y12U WILL BE IN GREAT DANGER
I did notice on "code page" that 6 is listed less than any other number.
ok, so i checked the posts before typing this, and it seems no one has posted info on this, so here goes...
on the rageofthegods site, below the 2 pictures (which are 6.jpg, and 6.gif) is a neumeric sequence '13152089147 919 239120 920 19551319' so translated by alphabetic sequence reveals that is says 'nothing is what it seems'. then a date follows (09/15/08) then (6). i have no idea the significance of the date or the 6 in parenthesis...
viewing the source of that page, i found a hidden link below the two pictures to 'www.rageofthegods.com/2618792112420.html'
that site has a picture of what appears to be 3 windows or doors or something. above the picture in hidden text it says:
'I BEG 12F Y15U, D12 N15T C12NTINUE 15R Y12U WILL BE IN GREAT DANGER!'
below that, there is '666' hidden which leads to
'/demonscantdecipherthiscode.html'
this page has a .jpg entitled 'demonscantdecipherthiscode.jpg', which is nothing but a massive number sequence.
now, i suck at code breaking, so you guys are on your own from here. it prolly has something to do with the numbers 12 and 15 due to the text on the previous page. possibly the letters that match those letters (L and O)? who knows... hell, i dont even know if this has anything to do with anything yet, but its all i got for now.
have fun with that, boys and girls! im out for now.
-K
I'm not really sure if any one has done this but...
Since I'm using a mac I don't know if this redirect thing affects me. When I go on the page nothing really happens just the page shows up with the melting picture and the number at the bottom.
I can click the button and it lead me to a new page with three windows and lights coming through. I highlighted the page and at the botom in black text was "666" when I click that it lead me to a new page called Demons Can't decipher this Code
you can go to it instantly if you google http://www.rageofthegods.com/demonscantdecipherthiscode.jpg or you follow that link
i've checked multiple forums and threads and it seems no one has mentioned this
i hope i've helped :D
